Sky One Review

Sky One is Sky’s oldest and original satellite channel. It was first broadcast in Norway and Finland under the moniker Satellite Television in 1982. Today, it is only available in the UK and Ireland, where you can watch the likes of The Simpsons and A League of Their Own.
The programming is a mix of shows imported from North America and its own original shows.
What kind of programmes can I see on Sky One?
You can watch a variety of genres on Sky One, including comedy, drama, reality TV and kids shows.
Most of its programmes are from the States, including 24, Glee, Prison Break, Futurama, Modern Family, and The Flash. A lot come from the Fox network in particular. The Simpsons is Sky One’s longest running show, which is from the US. Sky has the exclusive rights to new episodes of the Simpsons, so if it is your favourite show, make sure Sky One is part of your subscription or package deal.
Did Sky One start out as a different channel?
Originally, Sky One was a haven for popular new game shows live The Price is Right and Blockbusters. Original and commissioned Sky One programming over the years has spanned the genres, but mostly sticks to comedy, reality TV, and a bit of drama. These days you can watch shows like Yonderland, A League of Their Own, The Kumars, and A Touch of Cloth - though you may also remember The Colour of Magic, Brainiac, Pineapple Dance Studios, and the 2008 Gladiators reboot.
