Virgin Media TV Channels - December 2020
What is Virgin Media TV
Virgin is one of the largest UK pay television services, and the only nationwide cable TV provider, beaming Virgin Media channels into more than half of all households. Its V6 set-top box can store up to 5000 hours of programmes, and you can record up to six channels at once while watching a seventh. You can keep up-to-date with what channels and changes are happening via the website, but here’s a useful summary.
Virgin Media channel list
Different Virgin Media channels are available depending on which package you subscribe to. Note that programmes and scheduling are subject to change, and there are regional variations. You need High Definition (HD) TV to view any HD channels, and their inclusivity depends on your package. All Sky channels are available through Virgin except Sky Atlantic.
For a TV-only subscription, there are two basic packages: Mix and Full House. However, if you buy bundled superfast broadband, phone line and TV from Virgin, there are more packages to choose from. The least expensive collection of Virgin Media channels, Big Bundle, is mostly Freeview channels you can watch through any TV or box. For a wider range, the Bigger Bundle or Ultimate Oomph Bundle are a better bet. All bundles have a £35 set up fee.

Virgin Media sports channels
Subscribers to a lower Bundle plus the add-on of + Sports, or the Ultimate Oomph Bundle, can watch all Sky Sports channels and BT Sport in 4K. Viewing is also possible on the go using the Sky Sports app, which offers exclusive interviews and videos. There are more special features if you watch on iPad.
Virgin Media cinema channels
The Sky Cinema channels included in the Movies Pick add-on or Ultimate Oomph Bundle are Premiere, Hits, Disney, Greats, Family, Thriller, Comedy, SciFi Horror, Drama, Action, and Select. If you’re a Netflix subscriber, you can watch it through Virgin TV as well, so there’s surely something for every taste.
Virgin Media children’s channels
CBBC and CBeebies are available in all bundles, but Oomph adds Nickelodeon, Nick Jr, Cartoonito, Cartoon Network, Nick Toons, and Boomerang, in HD and non-HD.
It’s the Kids Pick add-on taking the Bigger Bundle into Oomph territory, so those not needing kid’s programming should compare Oomph pricing against a lower bundle with an Entertainment Pick add-on that matches their interest i.e. sports or cinema.
