Best SSE broadband deals
What does SSE offer?
SSE has a straightforward approach to broadband. They have three packages, which vary by speed: Unlimited Broadband, Unlimited Fibre and its fastest option Unlimited Fibre Plus. All its broadband deals include line rental. You'll get a reduction on its standard prices if you're already an SSE energy customer or become one, though always do a full price comparison for both your energy and your broadband to .

Coverage
SSE are an Openreach network, meaning they are on the same lines as BT. These lines are well maintained by Openreach, so you can be assured that unless you live in a very rural area, you will get good coverage and speeds with SSE.
Price Comparison to other networks
SSE isn't the cheapest provider; however, it prides itself on quality rather than its budget offerings. However since they have foregone the connection fee and included a free router on set up, their prices have gone down. It is cheaper than BT and Virgin Media, but more expensive than Plusnet and EE.
If you cancel within the first year, you'll need to mail your router back to SSE or pay an extra fee.
Speeds
SSE previously offered copper-wire ADSL broadband in addition to fibre, but now it simply offers Unlimited Fibre, with average download speeds of 35Mbps, and Unlimited Fibre Plus, with average download speeds of 63Mbps. There are no data caps on either deal, so you won't have to be concerned with hitting a limit and being charged. This is similar to the offerings by other providers.
A fibre connection should comfortably support a home with several devices being used at once, whether that's a mobile, a laptop, a games console or any other internet-connected household appliance such as a smart meter.
Upload speeds determine how quickly you can send emails and upload files to the internet. SSE offers standard average speeds of 9Mbps and 19Mbps, respectively, with its two fibre packages. This reflects what most other providers offer, and these speeds are easily fast enough for sending photos by email or uploading images to social media.
Business Broadband
SSE do not currently offer broadband for business. You can only take out a broadband package if you're a domestic customer.
