How to set up your BOnline Router
Follow these simple steps to set up your online Router.
Find your master socket.
The main phone socket in your office is the master socket; it's typically a little bigger than a typical phone socket and frequently has a horizontal line in the centre. Whether or not you need to utilize microfilters will depend on the type of master socket you have:
- Standard socket: It has one socket. This type of master socket needs a micro filter for your Router to work
- Pre-filtered socket: It has two sockets. You do not need to use a microfilter.
Unplug everything from your master socket
Unplug everything from your master socket and all other sockets in your office, including:
- Your phone cable
- Any microfilters
- Any splitters
Connect your microfilters.
This applies to standard main socket types. You can connect your Router right away if you have a pre-filtered socket.
- Connect your microfilter to your master socket.
- Connect the cable to the Microfilter's Phone connector if you have a phone.
- You must insert a microfilter into each outlet you use in your office. Any electronics store will sell more microfilters.
- Never connect one microfilter to another microfilter. If you do it will impact your broadband performance.
Connect your Router
If your master socket is the standard type:
- Connect the grey broadband cable's other end to the microfilter's ADSL port.
- Put the other end of the broadband cable into the Router's Broadband port on the rear.
If your master socket is pre-filtered
- Connect one end of the grey broadband cable to the main socket.
- Put the other end of the broadband cable into the Router's Broadband port on the rear.
Turn on the Router.
- Connect the opposite end of the power supply to the rear of the BOnline Router after plugging it into the wall. Turn on the power.
- On the side of the BOnline Router, press the on/off switch.
- The Power, Broadband, and Internet lights turning green indicate that your line is active. This could take some time.
