Post Office Broadband Deals
Post Office Broadband has recently been acquired by Shell Energy in February 2021.
According to Post Office’s statement, they made the decision to sell their broadband branch to focus on their core mission, which is to deliver letters, parcels, banking services, bill payments and travel money to its customers nationwide.
So what will happen to existing Post Office customers, and do Shell Energy offer similar deals to the old Post Office ones? Let’s find out!

What will happen to Post Office Broadband customers?
Post Office states that existing customers will not face any changes in terms of their service or bills. However, they do say ‘no immediate change’; which may insinuate that the terms and conditions may be altered in the future. You can also continue to pay your bill you’re your online account, or even over the counter in the 11,500 Post Office branches in the UK. In the future, you will be contacted by Shell Energy Broadband and not Post Office Broadband about any changes or updates to your contract.

If you are currently an Openreach customer, or you live somewhere where they are in operation, you are in luck! Shell uses these lines to provide their ADSL and fibre broadband services.
To avail of their Ultrafast Fibre Broadband, you will either already be connected via your area or you can sign up through your local Openreach network, as the street cabinet will need to be connected to fibre.
If you are unsure of whether you can get Shell Energy Broadband in your area, you can check your postcode on their website.
