Smarty mobile UK uses Three's network because they need to piggy back of Three's network in order to carry out their coverage and this means Smarty will have reliable 4G network across the United Kingdom.

What network does Smarty use?

Smarty is an MVNO (mobile virtual network operator) which means it needs to piggy back of a network so that it can carry out its coverage. Therefore, Smarty uses Three's network which is good because Three is one of the well-known mobile network providers in the UK.

There are four main mobile network providers in the UK EE, Three, O2 and Vodafone and EE is rated second in overall performance which also includes the quality of the data category.

Smarty customers will have a reliable and 3G & 4G data network and plus the cheap Smarty SIM only deals that Smarty UK offer you can't miss out on this great carrier.

Smarty can create cheap SIM only deals because it does not have to manage a network instead they can have a partnership with Three and pay for their network instead having to go through the headache of maintaining a network.

Therefore, it was a good decision for Smarty to piggy back of Three's network because they are a quality mobile network provider compared to other top four network providers in the UK.

3G & 4G Smarty

Smarty offers both 3G and 4G coverage and it is important to understand the difference between the two data technologies.

3G is one of the earlier data networks but it is a huge upgrade from 2G as with 3G it is a lot faster than 2G. 3G will allow you to check emails and browse on social media but with streaming videos, movies and music you will experience a lot of difficulties.

However, it is still a good level of data technology but it is a frustrating to use at times because of how slow it can be at times.

4G is a lot more reliable and faster than 3G and when using 4G you are able to stream videos, movies and music. 4G is the next level and most Smarty customers will be happy with the 4G data.

Checking emails and browsing on social media will be super easy and 4G is perfect for everyone in regards to studying, working or just browsing on the net, 4G is the best data technology that Smarty offers.

Smarty 5G

Unfortunately, Smarty does not have 5G network but because Three already offers 5G technology to a few major cities in the UK, Smarty has said it will have 5G but has not released a date of when they will actually have 5G technology.

But when Smarty does acquire 5G network customers will be able to experience unbelievable speed and video buffering will exist no more also you will not lose signal when you are in a busy place.

Smarty Coverage Checker

The Smarty coverage checker is important for customers to check because it gives you a clear display of what areas have 4G and 3G coverage which important because you want to have 4G coverage, 4G covers 99.8% of the UK population.

The Smarty coverage checker also shows what areas have indoor & outdoor coverage but most importantly the Smarty coverage map shows what areas have no coverage.

To use the Smarty coverage checker is easy, simply enter your postcode and the map will zoom in on your area and show what type of coverage you will have and if your area has a good or bad signal.

Therefore, it is important that you check the Smarty coverage map because if you are experiencing a loss of connection than you may know why.

Problems with the Smarty network

Smarty does have a reliable network but sometimes there are some issues with the network that are out of Smarty control and it will effect the level of signal you will receive on your device.

For example, if you are in a building that is underground or have thick walls than there is a good chance you will have a weak signal or even a loss of signal.

If it is raining heavily or you are in the mountain areas with tree covers you will experience bad service.

The best way to deal with these issues is to change your location and see if that helps but these are factors that cannot be controlled.
