Glide Network provides broadband Internet access to households and businesses in several suburban and rural communities in the UK. In this article, we’ll talk about Glide’s network: what network it uses, its speeds and other technical specifications. We will also talk about the main cities where they are available. There’s a chart with most of the available cities on it.

What network does Glide use?

In the UK, Glide Network offers superfast broadband on fibre or leased lines, VoIP, and hosting services. They also create a network for themselves and other ISPs. Glide is an internet service provider specialising in providing high-speed internet solutions to businesses in metropolitan regions, business parks, industrial estates, and multi-occupancy structures.

Glide offers specialised networks and backhaul services to other internet service providers, operating both domestically and abroad. A 10-gigabit ethernet core supports their national network, with locations in Manchester, the Midlands, and London. They also provide fibre-to-the-cabinet (FTTC), fiber-to-the-premises (FTTP), and sub-loop-unbinding leased lines with high capacity and ultrafast broadband (SLU).

Glide Network offers both fibre and standard broadband. The average peak-time download speed for fibre broadband is 63 Mbps. At the same time, the average download speed over a basic broadband connection is 11 Mbps.

Most devices, including those running iOS, Google Android, or Windows operating systems, will be able to access Glide Home Network from any location in a building with Wi-Fi offered by Glide. It is compatible with various gadgets, including Alexa, wireless printers, network storage, smart TVs, Chromecast, Airplay, Amazon Firestick, Apple TV, and video cameras.

Glide network: Technical Specs

Wi-Fi 6 is the new generation of Wi-Fi. It will still connect you to the internet, which is its primary purpose, but thanks to a number of new technologies, it will be able to do it more rapidly and effectively.

A few new technologies are included in Wi-Fi 6 to help reduce the problems caused by connecting a large number of Wi-Fi devices to one network. It enables Wi-Fi devices to schedule check-ins with the network and enables routers to provide data to numerous devices simultaneously and simultaneously to multiple devices. Together, these functions ought to maintain connections even as more and more devices begin to request data. Most importantly, Wi-Fi 6 offers more potential speed than its predecessor because it has a higher theoretical top speed meaning that each device has a higher potential speed.

Unfortunately, anything older than 2020 will likely only be able to use Wi-Fi 5, which should still be suitable for your work and normal internet use. Wi-Fi 6 is only being built into the newest laptops and devices.

To connect to the Wi-Fi at locations where Wi-Fi 6 is broadcast, you need to update your device to the most recent Wi-Fi software. This is because hardware producers must ensure they are up to date. After all, it is a whole new technology.

Glide network availability: where is it available?

Most of the UK is covered by glide business broadband, albeit not all sites will have access to higher-speed fibre. More than 100 towns and cities, including Bradford, Liverpool, Bristol, Cardiff, Barnet, and Kenn, provide Glide Broadband service. The fastest broadband speeds in these cities range from 65 to 236 Mbps.

How to check your broadband availability on Glide

There is a Glide Broadband checker feature on their website. You can use your postcode to check Glide broadband availability in your area.
