What is BT Mobile Wi-Fi Calling?
Wi-Fi calling allows people to make and receive video and voice calls, using a Wi-Fi connection over the regular cell one.
If a customer is on a call using an online app and she or he is in a building with thick walls, this might cause their phone to lose connection or have a weak signal. Nevertheless, this won't happen if they can automatically connect to the building's wi-fi if the building has wi-fi then it'll automatically reconnect.
It is the same for being on a call using wi-fi, the call will automatically switch from Wi-Fi to a 4G network without having to end the call.

Does Wi-Fi call cost extra?
The best part about Wi-Fi calling is that it is free and customers don't need to download an app because Wi-Fi calling works behind the scenes, just make sure that the smartphone phone is compatible.
The calls made over Wi-Fi don't use any data allowance of your current plan. However, the Wi-Fi network you are using may be applying charges in order to access it.
Nevertheless, you must have in mind that voice calling consumes around 1 MB/minute of data and 1-minute video call can use up to 6 to 8 MB of data (the actual data usage may vary depending on the device).
Wi-Fi calling is a good way to save money on data plans because clients don't have to use any of their data.
