What is a Plusnet PAC code used for?

PAC is an acronym for Porting Authorization Code. A Plusnet PAC code enables you to keep your current phone number when switching service providers. You must provide your Plusnet PAC code when you want to switch your number from Plusnet to another service provider.

You'll need to request a PAC code from Plusnet if you're leaving Plusnet Mobile to join another mobile network. You can request a PAC code from Plusnet by doing any of the following:

  • Online: Log in to the Plusnet Mobile account website to obtain a PAC Code from Plusnet. After logging in, go to Account Details then Transfer your mobile account and Thinking of leaving.
  • Text Message: You can receive a Plusnet Mobile PAC Code via SMS. Texting PAC can obtain a Plusnet PAC Code to 65075.
  • By Phone: A Plusnet PAC Code can be obtained by calling Plusnet Mobile. Dial 500 on your Plusnet mobile phone to do this. You can also use any other phone to call 0800 079 1133. Also, calling during Plusnet's business hours is advised (Monday-Friday 7.30 am-8 pm, Saturday 7.30 am-8 pm, Sunday 7.30 am-4 pm).

Use your Plusnet PAC code if you are leaving.

A Plusnet PAC code is usually valid for 30 days, so once you've obtained a PAC code from Plusnet, be sure to give it to your new provider so they can transfer your mobile number before it expires. The transfer usually happens one or two days after you have provided them with your PAC code.

If you fail to give Plusnet a 30 days notice to terminate your contract before or when you request your PAC code, they will continue to provide services until your mobile number is transferred to your new provider. Then you'll be required to pay all the necessary fees during that period. Plusnet will no longer provide you services as soon as your mobile number changes.
